From what I've heard and seen, it's a pretty nice little electronic kit - should serve you very well if you're just starting or if it is your first elec. kit.

And yes, you can get over 350 free drumless tracks on this site, with new ones added weekly (as well as links to websites with hundreds more)!

Cheers

I have the Alesis DM5 pro as well. It's a cool little kit, especially with the nice price tag. For recording, it seems that you can only isolate up to 4 channels into each individual track. (main left, main right, aux left, aux right) Unless you are recording MIDI, but I'm not familiar with MIDI so that's a whole new can of worms.

If you or anyone knows how to isolate all the drum triggers into a sequencer please post. Thanks so much, all the best....

You will have to record via midi into a sequencer to isolate all triggers. You could use a vst drumkit or a drumkit sound font loaded into that channel in the sequencer. The only other option is to record each trigger seperately onto a track, one at a time.

I have a ION Studio Session MKII electric kit, not the best, but i got it for christmas. Last thing i expected to get was a drum kit but it turned out to be the best thing in the world. I use FL Studio, but the only problem i have is it does not detect velocity changes, so the volume is set at one level. Hoping to upgrade to a Roland TD4 at some point.
Let me know how you get on.

I got the DM5 Pro Kit with a Ludwig Double Pedal and I gotta admit I love it. New to the drum experience but lets just say my guitar feels neglected :x anyways I love it. I actually have been told I hit too hard for it but if I do it's taking it well lol. The triggers could be a little better at the velocity hits but I'm not griping its something to play esp. since I'm a newb.

Do you mean the Alesis DM Pro pads or PRO pads in general...?

If you want the best trigger pads have a look at Diamond drums.

I did a little research before purchasing electronic drums and I know that Roland has some of the best and longest lasting triggers and authentic sounding modules and also I know that there Tech. support dept... is close to perfect they have some seriously knowledgeable guys there..
