Over my 10+ years of percussion, drum kit, and drumline studies, I was always told that flipping sticks was a major sign of weakness. But what the heck... It's fun to do, and the chicks love it. During countless hours of classical rehearsal, I did two things in the percussion section; I ate food, and I twirled & flipped my drum sticks. I can do some pretty nice little tricks, but I'm looking for something new. Does anybody know of any unique tricks?

You should be able to find all kinds of stuff on You Tube or the Net..I would imagine..From the Buddy Rich era or before up to the newest drummers and styles..Are you looking for new tricks to do with the sticks?

You should check out Jojo Mayer - he does some very unique stick tricks and twirls...

I don't think any of my stick tricks are any different than yours, so no help there. wink It was never really an area I worked on all that much.

Thanks, I'll check him out.

I guess I just couldn't sit still during rehearsals, and had to do something quiet with my sticks. At least now its paying off for the Drumline...
